Danshui, Taiwan, Photo by MilliGFunk, 2006 There’s always plenty to be thankful for, though lately I keep coming back to the same things; solid employment, great friends and loving family. This week I want to push myself to find grace in things that are specific to where I am at this specific point in my life; right now, this week, on [...] The last three weeks have been challenging. Much of what’s been happening in my little nook in Small Town Missouri is pretty fantastic, but I’ve been pushed far outside of my comfort zones in my personal and professional life thanks to new opportunities I’ve been given. Small Town Life: It’s the Little Things St. Louis has been buzzing for the last couple of weekends. Mardi Gras in Soulard last weekend was followed by the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Run this weekend downtown. Later this week, Dogtown will come alive with the rest of the St. Louis St. Patrick’s Day festivities. I recently dined at a small town Missouri pizza chain called Pogolino’s Pizza Place. Some of the little things I’m happy are part of my life this week: Over the last few months, Arizona has made it onto this small town girl’s small town radar. My host during the P.F. Chang’s Rock n Roll Half Marathon took me to the Desert Botanical Garden, drove me to Sedona to see the red rocks, and took me to “the Towers” to get a view of [...] |
