Hiking the Ozark Trail
The Ozark Trail is a 350-mile trail system that will eventually connect the greater St. Louis area with the Arkansas Ozarks in one through-trails system. In 2009, I set out to hike the entire Ozark Trail in 10-15 mile day trips, and was asked by a Missouri publication called River Hills Traveler to share my stories with its readers.
While I didn’t complete the entire trail before moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado in the summer of 2011, I covered approximately 70 miles of it, created a collection of good memories, and got myself into good enough shape to begin running half marathons.
Some of my Ozark Trail stories were published in the RHT, and others can be found here on A Small Town Girl’s Guide. Other stories of hiking, floating, rock climbing, and other outdoors activities can be found in the links, below, or by using the search bar on A Small Town Girl’s Guide’s home page.
