MilliGFunk Photography
I purchased my first digital SLR (or DSLR) camera on Camera Street in Hong Kong in 2006.
I was working full time as a Henry Luce Scholar in Taipei, Taiwan that year, but in my free time, I traveled as much as possible, carrying my camera everywhere I went.
In 2009, when I returned to my small Missouri home town after two years in New York City, I arrived camera in tow, ready to explore rural Missouri with the same zeal I had for exploring Asia.
My photography of Brooklyn Botanic Garden was published in 2009 by Schmap.com. At around the same time, BBC’s flickr group requested use of my photography of President Obama’s visit to Arnold,Missouri. So far in 2010, my photography has been published in River Hills Traveler and Aire Magazine, as well as on the cover of Aire Magazine’s February/March issue.

great post…keep it up!…Social Media Marketing
I recently attended a workshop (not photography related) and the speaker told us we should always carry a digital camera with us. Mine is so small and compact that it is simple to just pop it into my purse as I run out the door. Then I am always prepared for whatever wonders I may encounter in my day. Especially useful for gardeners and art lovers – both of which I consider myself.
Congratulations on the publication of your photos!
It must have been really nice to earn by taking awesome pictures of the places you have been and also having the pleasure of visiting different countries. It has always been my dream to tour around the world. Someday I will…
Love your work. It seems like you do a lot of architectural photography. Is this your specialty and do you have any particular area of photography you prefer over others? I’m always drawn to the great outdoors and love shooting landscapes and these also tend to be some of my best photographs.
Just wanted to stop in and say “Hi!”. I live in Small Town, Missouri too (Desloge, to be exact). I am also a freelance writer and photographer. As a matter of fact, I worked with Insider 573 on a couple of issues. I love photographing people, animals, architecture and pretty much anything that doesn’t run away from me! As far as writing, I had a blog for over 2 years, where I blogged about pretty much everything! I miss blogging and have thought about getting back to it. I also enjoy writing in an editorial style (like Insider)and personal essays/short stories, just to name a few.
Just wanted to let you know that I like your style
Thanks for stopping by, Michaelle! I’ll be sure to check out your site, and please let me know if you hear of fun things in the Desloge area for me to cover here. Thanks for the comment!
I have been doing freelancing for quite some time now and I love the flexibility. How are you doing in the freelance industry?
I’d love to be a writer and a photographer as well. I always admire people who have this kind of talent. Very fascinating!
