After more than two years in Missouri, few things still surprise me, and even fewer bring me to genuine, unforced optimism that borders upon giddiness. Today’s stop off at Chesterfield Mall’s The Foundrie was one of them. A friend will be visiting me in February for just 48 hours. I have plenty of ideas for small town Missouri adventures, but I want to show my friend the best St. Louis has to offer culturally, too. Here’s my St. Louis cultural hot spot Top 10 list. Saturday night, March 20th was a cool and rainy spring night in St. Louis, but that didn’t stop seventy or so young professionals from gathering at the Center of Creative Arts (COCA) in University City for the COCA Junior Board’s first-ever fundraiser, “COCA Immersion”. Last Friday, my friend Josh and I went to the Maplewood Arts Walk, where we had the pleasure of watching a very unique trio of women perform a dance that involved large wooden sticks, jingle bells sewn to their knees, and funny hats. |
